Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

The Center for START Services provides free UNH Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to all members of the START Network that participate in the National Online Training Series on Mental Health and Intellectual/Developmental Disability (IDD). UNH CEUs are also provided for attending the START National Training Institute as well as select in-person trainings and workshops held across the country.

How to Receive CEUs for the National Online Training Series

In order to receive CEUs for participating in the National Online Training Series, members of the START Network must view trainings on the scheduled release date AND participate in a post-training group discussion. 

How to Register for UNH CEUs

National Online Training Series participants need to register to recieve CEUs prior to or directly following a training from the series. Please note that registration differs based on the way you view the trainings. 

  • If you watch training remotely - you need to register for each training you attend. Links are provided below for each training in the series. Don't forget to attend the post-training group discussion on zoom: https://unh.zoom.us/j/167539882
  • If you attend a viewing at a host site - you need to register for each training you attend on the attendance sheet at the host site.

2016 - 2017 Schedule

The National Online Training Series monthly trainings are released on the 3rd FRIDAY of each month. If you want to receive CEUs for any of these trainings, mark these dates on your calendar, register for CEUs, and participate in post-viewing discussion!

What is a CEU?

CEU stands for Continuing Education Unit. A CEU is a unit of credit equal to 10 hours of participation in an accredited program designed for professionals. CEUs are widely used to provide evidence of completion of continuing education requirements mandated by certification bodies, professional societies, and governmental licensing boards.

How do I get a CEU at an in-person training?

For in-person trainings, make sure to indicate that you would like to receive CEUs on the attendance sheet at registration. For large events, like the annual START National Training Institute, certificates are prepared in advance and distributed to participants after conference evaluation forms are completed. In order to receive CEUs for attending National Online Training Series session at a host site, you must participated in a post-training group discussion. Please note that host sites WITHOUT a START Program representative will not qualify to award CEUs. Certificates of Attendance are provided on our host site information page. Please email info@centerforstartservices.org if you have any questions.

How do I get a CEU for an online training?

The National Online Training Series is the only online program offered by the Center for START Services that provide CEUs. In order to receive CEUs for participating in the National Online Training Series, members of the START Network must view trainings remotely on the scheduled release date AND participate in a post-training group discussion via Zoom. When will I get my CEU Certificate?

CEUs are awarded by the Center for START Services twice during our National Online Training Series, once half way through the series, and again at the end. Certificates for the 2016-2017 Series will be awarded in February 2017 and May 2017.
