Vaya Health, formerly Smoky Mountain MCO, is a whole-person health organization helping those with behavioral health and intellectual or developmental disabilities connect with the right providers on their journey toward healing, recovery and hope. They operate in 23 western North Carolina counties that are home to over 1 million residents who may be eligible for our prevention, treatment and crisis services.
YAI supports people of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving the fullest life possible by creating new opportunities for living, loving, working and learning. YAI is a network of agencies with programs that empower and enhance the lives of thousands of people we support and their families.
The New York State Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (DDPC) in collaboration with individuals with developmental disabilities, their families, caregivers and policymakers provides capacity building by promoting policies, plans and best practices that:
- Affirm the dignity, value, respect, contribution and worth of all New Yorkers with developmental disabilities.
- Support the full participation of people with disabilities in society.
- Uphold equality and self-determination for all.
- Promote access to research and information needed for informed decision-making.
Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. (FREE) founded in 1977 and headquartered in Old Bethpage, benefits and proudly supports more than 4,000 individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental illness and traumatic brain injury. It is the mission of FREE to help individuals of all abilities realize their full potential. FREE provides a diverse array of supports and services including: housing, recovery services, transition to work, employment, day, community and family services, respite, crisis services, education and after-school support, primary and specialty health care and advocacy.
