2020 START National Training Institute
After much consideration, we have made the decision to cancel the 2020 START National Training Institute (SNTI) previously scheduled to occur in Austin, due to concerns surrounding COVID-19. While this was not an easy decision, the Center for START Services felt that it was prudent to take this proactive measure in the best interest of the health & wellbeing of our attendees and presenters, many of whom experience IDD, medical vulnerabilities and/or are involved in the direct support and care of people with IDD/medical vulnerabilities.
The START National Training Institute (SNTI) is an annual in-person training event that brings together hundreds of START team members, self advocates, families, and national & international leaders in the field of MH/IDD to share expertise, tools, and best practices. The training spans two and a half days and features keynote addresses, panel discussions, breakout sessions from four content-focused strands, a judged research poster session & professional networking event, the START Film premiere, and a Sunday evening coffee house.
