Mental Health Wellness for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (MHW-IDD) Training Modules

The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) released a free 6-part e-learning training series designed to educate direct service workers (DSWs) and others about the behavioral health needs of people who have an IDD and a co-occurring behavioral health condition. PLEASE NOTE: If you are not a Texas resident you will have to enter your zip code twice to access the training.

This course consists of the following training modules:

Trauma Informed Care: Perspectives and Resources

Many resources, actions, and lessons learned from entities that have become trauma informed, are necessary to help child-serving systems and provider organizations on their journey to becoming trauma informed. The National Technical Assistance Center for Children’s Mental Health at Georgetown University and JBS International created this web-based tool to support leaders and decision makers at all levels (national, state, tribal, territorial, and local) in taking steps on their journey.
